Crocheted Mary Jane Slippers

19 Jan

I received this pair of crocheted Mary Jane slippers for Christmas from my friend Snook Evans. How cute are these? Had to post them on my site to show them off. I’ve seen the version for babies and dolls, but never in an adult size. They’re too cute to wear and what a fantastic gift idea!

The pattern book can be found at Annie’s Attic!

Welcome Bella!

30 Dec

My neighbors have a Bulldog, Chubs, whom I fell in love with the first time I met him. Sometimes I think I get along better with dogs than I do people, but Chubs is one of the most charming dogs I’ve ever met. I’d love to have a Bulldog, but I’ve learned from Chubs that they’re very strong, and I don’t think I could handle one. Chubs’ parents called me over the other night to introduce me to the newest addition to their family – a little sister for Chubs. Her name is Bella, she’s 8 weeks old, and she’s adorable. There is nothing more special than a puppy. Welcome Bella and congratulations to AJ, Kim, Alex, Jonathan and Chubs!

Holiday Recipe Brochures

18 Dec

Often when someone gives me cookies, candy, fudge, etc., I would love to have the recipe to make some myself. So this year I sent along a little recipe brochure with each Christmas goody box I gave. I’ve included it in case you’d like to try any of the recipes. I really like each one – favorites! You can download the printable .pdf file Sandi’s Recipe Brochure!

Had a “Charming” Day

19 Aug

I’ve spent the last few weeks making little fake food charms from polymer clay. I’ve really enjoyed doing it, but then after making a slew of these, had to figure out what to do with them. So, today created several galleries with a lot of the charms I’ve made. They’re very small and can be used for jewelry making – bracelets, necklaces, cell phone charms or tokens for backpacks. I’d be interested in hearing other ideas for them. You can check them out at Charms!

There are more items to come.

The Welcome Page

19 Aug

Welcome

Welcome to my newest site, sandiidleman.com.

First of all, I’ve got to give a special movie a plug. Go see “The Lincoln Lawyer” – you’ll be glad you did!

I’ll be adding more to this site, as time goes by.

We started this site off with a recipe contest. The winner hasn’t even been told that she won. It wasn’t based on the tastiest, but with a drawing for those who entered.

The winner is Patty Spurgin from Texas who sent in her Twelve Bean Soup recipe. Yea Patti. As soon as I get your address, I’ll send your tote to you! Thanks to all who sent recipes in. I’ve tried many of them and some are outstanding.

If you have a favorite recipe to share, just email your favorite recipe to si@sandiidleman.com and be sure to put “Recipe” in the subject.

The Cupcake Tote with Rhinestones can also be ordered. Each one is done on a one-at-a-time basis.
15″ by 16″
It’s $15.99 + $2.50 shipping.

I made a book using some of my photos a couple of years ago. Thought I’d post it on here if you’d like to look at it.

Thanksgiving is over for 2010

26 Nov

Another Thanksgiving is over. I’m still full. My son and his wife cooked a fantastic meal and everyone left content.

Things can sometimes be rough, but through the fog, there is always something to be thankful for. To see a cherished loved one going through a major health crisis is tough. It hurts to see that person going through so much and not as strong as they always were. But to be thankful, that even in this weakened state, they’re well enough to join you at the Thanksgiving table and there is hope that they will recover. It makes you even more thankful for things you may not have thought of before. I believe in the power of prayer. I’ve seen too many miracles to ignore it.

I’m thankful for the important ‘stuff’: good health, family, special friends, home, income and that I live in a great country. And, I’m thankful I’m not out in the cold with the crowd braving “Black Friday”.

Happy Thanksgiving weekend.
